July 6th NZ Woman's Weekly pp 30-31
Well it is out, NZ Woman's Weekly this week, July 6th.  Six months after the summer photo shoot late February when the wonderful Serena (makeup and wardrobe)  and Tim (photographer) came to our place and did a day's shooting  in Tasman in the hot summer sun. (I did have had the air conditioner on inside).
The orders from NZ WW for the photo shoot were 'Clothes in bright colours- no patterns please'. So apart from my qupusk..only patterned, Gary and I spent the day changing into bright plain clothes varying positions and trying to look relaxed and happy... and cool. Hard with his arms around me.

Then the wait!  When would the article go to print? Initial enthusiasm turned to moderate disbelief, then utter incredulity that the article would ever 'make the grade'.
I eventually learned about the actual publication from a high school girlfriend in Christchurch who emailed me today (Tues 30th June) saying "I saw the article in the Woman’s Weekly at the supermarket. Lovely photo’s! " Apparently the journalist who was going to let me know ahead of time  was herself unaware that the article had finally gone to print.
I was thrilled to see the blue box at the end of the article with my website on it... thanks Laura, you did a great job!!

emma I loved your book only problem was putting it down! It is factual-romantic and you have very cleverly hopped from Alaska to Balclutha and never missed a beat. Well done and I hope lots of people read and enjoy as did
